I am a PhD candidate at the University of British Columbia’s School of Information researching how to use computers to learn about the history of professionalism among information workers.

I also have over a decade of writing and editing experience in a wide range of genres and fields ranging from technical writing to public relations to reviews to personal essays and informational articles for both casual and professional audiences.

I specialize in writing designed to educate and inform. Some of my favourite projects include writing copy for charity livestreams of video games to how-to manuals to summaries for research projects.

Current Research Topics

My research involves using computational text analysis in digital humanities projects, the history of professional identity and its development in the United States and Canada, the maintenance of online communities, economic precarity and its impact on professional attitudes among information and cultural heritage workers, and the role of shared imagination in identity construction.

About Me

Along with my academic research, I love working for different writing projects and continually expanding my repertoire. When I’m not writing, I’m usually exploring the mountains, forests, and restaurants around Vancouver with my family.
